2018 Verizon IndyCar Series - ABC Supply 500

The 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series continues at the dreaded tricky triangle, Pocono Raceway, for the ABC Supply 500 race and in this tricky triangle thriller, there has been a life-threatening crash occurred and behind all that frightening incident at the early part of the race, there's one racer emerged victorious to hound the championship leader.

The start of the race was a disaster as Graham Rahal rammed the back of Spencer Piggott in the run-up of the green flag, delivering the first caution of the race, When the race restarts, Alexander Rossi jumps ahead of Will Power to lead the race but then this happened. Ryan Hunter-Reay and Robert Wickens involved in a frightening crash at Turn 2 that sent Wickens flying badly with James Hinchcliffe, Takuma Sato, and Pietro Fittipaldi narrowly missed it. Wickens is severely injured but survived and was awake after the accident and he was therefore transferred to the nearest hospital.

With the race restarted, Alexander Rossi continues the assault while Scott Dixon, after starting 13th, and Marco Andretti, thanks to clever pit strategy, charges through third and fourth behind Rossi and Power. However, Rossi's lead is gone due to lap traffic and Will Power's got the upper hand, only until Lap 137 when Rossi pulled the stops to retake the lead from Power's, therefore winning the ABC Supply 500 race in Pocono. Scott Dixon completes the podium in 3rd place.

After the race, the gap between Rossi and Dixon is now 29 points.

Next race is the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports Park, Illinois, on the 25th of August. There are three races left in this season.
