Bleach (2018 film)

If you still remember your high school years, you'd probably remember the TV anime show titled Bleach and you admit that aside from Dragon Ball and One Piece, you love this anime more than Naruto. Personal experience, per se, and ever since the Bleach saga came to an end, you kind of miss the thrills of a teenager entering an all-out war of the spirits, and with that, there's a live-action film that will make you remember the good old days.

Bleach

Starring Sota Fukushi as Ichigo Kurosaki and Hana Sugisaki as Rukia Kuchiki, the live-action Bleach film is more of a big treat for fans of the hit manga franchise made by Tite Kubo and nostalgia aside, this action thriller gives us plenty of reasons why our high school memories were the best, especially when you made Bleach your favorite anime.

The film is centered on the very beginning of the saga from the first eight volumes and although it feels different compared to the manga and anime it was based on, the soul-reaping thrills are still there, although our favorite lion mascot was nowhere to be found on this film, which is kinda sad because the producers decided to rid of the only cute element in Bleach to make sure this is a no holds barred action thriller. Nothing else.

Although the film, much like every live-action adaptation of our favorite anime shows, doesn't live up to the expectations from the anime and manga it was based upon, Bleach really stirs our nostalgia with its signature moments that will make you believe that you love shinigamis more than ninjas and that's personal experience from your high school days get information.

My rating: 3.9 out of 5.
