)- As the new school year begins, DepED secretary Leonor Briones said they're addressing the problem of classroom shortage, according to reports. A total of 85,000 classrooms are expected to be added this year. The DepEd said multi-storey buildings are the solution in the National Capital Region due to the limited space available. School year 2018-2019 opened on Monday with 27.7 million students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 going to their classes in public and private schools.
