- A year has passed since the deadly shooting at Resorts World Manila that killed almost 40 people, including the gunman. Following last year's attack, new security features had been implemented in the hopes of not happening this attack ever again.
- Several immigrant advocates gathered at the steps of New York City Hall to send Mayor Bill de Blasio a clear message; never forget about its vulnerable immigrant communities. Protesters say the mayor’s proposed city budget underfunds adult education programs, eliminates due process from immigration legal services, and fails to allocate resources to underserved immigrant communities.
- Alfa Romeo announced a revival of the 8C, in the form of a hybrid supercar, and the GTV, as the coupe equivalent of the Giulia Quadrifoglio.
- Seiyuu Akiko Yajima will no longer voice Crayon Shin-chan after 26 years.
- Actor Tom Cruise revealed that the Top Gun sequel film has begun production.
- Actress Keira Knightley will star in post war drama, The Aftermath.
