- The Malacanang rejected the actions of China after it named several undersea features belonging to the West Philippine Sea. According to the Presidential Spokesperson, Harry Roque, the Philippine embassy in Beijing have already raised the concern to China and are likewise considering a recommendation to officially notify the Chair of the International Hydrographic Organization – Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans Sub-Committee on Undersea Feature Names.

- 17 killed in a shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, according to authorities. The suspect behind the shooting was now under police custody.
