- Despite plans to label the CPP-NPA-NDF as terrorists, President Rodrigo Duterte yesterday said that government negotiators may still revive the peace process between the two sides given that it is the right time.
- Three individuals reportedly kidnapped by the Maute group were discovered lifeless on Thursday, December 7 in Lanao Del Sur. According to the police, the three males were found with numerous bullet wounds at the border of Piagapo and Balindong towns in Lanao Del Sur
- Sen. Gringo Honasan, chairman of the Committee on National Defense, expressed that if there is a need, based on the recommendation and assessment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, the Senate will support extending the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao.
