THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: Trump ahead of SK visit
South Korea President Moon Jae-in made a surprise visit to a US military base to personally welcome US President Donald Trump on Tuesday in a move that highlights the two nations' 6-decade alliance.
Trump received a security briefing before hosting a lunch for South Korean and US armed service members at the base. The official said they will hold their third bilateral summit later in the day at Cheong Wa Dae.
His talks with Moon will likely focus on ways to bring North Korea to the negotiating table. The South Korean leader has often emphasized that any pressure on the North should aim to change the way the regime behaves and encourage it come to the dialogue table.
They are widely expected to introduce a more detailed action plan to add pressure to North Korea.
