SIDE NOTE: The controversial Russian athletic team is starting to make headlines this day with Evgeny Tishchenko won the heavyweight boxing match and things get a lot dirty when an athlete from a reclusive nuclear state, Ri Se Gwang of North Korea, won the Men's Vault final. Like I said, should I consider North Korea's another gold medal win a "threat"? Sadly, this isn't the time to talk about it because we're still in the Olympics.

Onto the gold medal tallies, USA still leads with 26, UK got 16, China got 15, Russia annoyingly catches up to the top 5 nations with 11 golds, and Italy with 8 golds. The halfway point of the Rio Olympics is heating up really good (or bad).
