The story so far on the 2016 Philippine Elections...
- President-elect Rodrigo Duterte will put Freedom Of Information a top priority once he assumes office. The trash-talking Davao City mayor said that if Congress doesn't want to pass the FOI bill, he will start progressively. Despite fighting back against the media during an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Duterte said press freedom under his government will be expanded.
- COMELEC will hold a May 14 special elections for over 50 clustered precincts where failure of elections was declared under the Resolution no. 10129. About 17,657 voters were affected by the election failures in clustered precincts.
- COMELEC appealed to the media to give it time to look into Bongbong Marcos' accusations that its transparency server has been tampered. An hour before canvassing was adjourned, Marcos' camp released a statement claiming that a "new script or computer command was introduced to the transparency server".
- Initial vote tallies from at least three Cagayan towns on Wednesday were found to be figures from mock elections conducted three months ago and officials said this could affect the standing of the province's winners.
