- Aung San Suu Kyi's NLD opposition party scored a landslide victory in Sunday's Burma general election. Officials said that 121 seats or about 25% of those contested, have been officially declared. The NLD won 107 seats while the military-backed ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party won only seven.
