Let's Do The News! (October 23, 2015)


- The Supreme Court asked the Iglesia Ni Cristo leaders to present personally the church's expelled minister Lowell R. Menorca II before the Court of Appeals on the 3rd of November at 1000 hours Philippine time. In a resolution that contained the Writs of Habeas Corpus and Amparo, the SC ordered the INC to answer or make a verified return of the writs within five days from receipt of the order.

- The Office of the Ombudsman fired 19 Philippine National Police officials for the anomalous procurement of police coastal crafts worth 4.5 million pesos six years ago.

- During the Benghazi hearing, Hillary Clinton, the highly-potential candidate for the US Democratic presidency, deflected Republican criticism in Congress over how she worked as the Secretary of State. This was her first face-off against the Republicans since she announced her candidacy. Republican lawmakers questioned her for 11 hours about the deadly Benghazi attacks three years ago, where four Americans are killed including the ambassador.

- After his Mongolian tour, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe has arrived in Turkmenistan as part of his Central Asian trip. Turkmenistan has the world's 4th largest natural gas reserves and gas exports to China and other nations boosted the nation's growth by around 10%, but thanks to falling prices, the growth began to simmer down. Abe will pledge to support Japanese firms' investment with Turkmenistan and help built its infrastructure.

- The Dutch team has defended its titled in the biennial World Solar Challenge in Australia. Australia held their biennial World Solar Challenge where the the best teams in the world came up with their own solar cars and take on an endurance race stretching 3,000km from Darwin to Adelaide. The Dutch has done a 1-2 finish in the Challenger Class with Japan placed 3rd.

- The FIA Formula E 2015-2016 season is almost starting with the first round set in Beijing this weekend. For its second season of the first-ever FIA Formula E, the drivetrains of their electric machines have improved with new motors, inventions, and gearboxes, resulting to a new noise coming out from the Formula E racers. - The new Mini Cabrio has been unveiled, offering the same stuff from the hardtop model with the open top goodness.


- Actress Bianca Gonzales gives birth to a baby girl.

- DON'T FORGET! Tomorrow is the biggest AlDub event of a lifetime and it's happening at the Philippine Arena. For those who didn't bought the tickets (because it's sold out), couldn't make it at the Philippine Arena, or stuck at home, don't worry because it will be simulcasted live on Eat Bulaga only on GMA and GMA Pinoy TV (for overseas Filipinos who are fans of AlDub!)
